This section of our website provides information to help our customers better understand the insurance claim process and works that we may carry out.

With 140 years combined experience in the disaster restoration and insurance industry, we understand that experiencing an incident in your property and making an insurance claim can be an incredibly stressful time. We aim to restore your property and / or contents as quickly and efficiently as possible. From minor accidental damage to large scale floods and fires, our highly skilled team knows exactly what is required to get your situation back to normal with minimal disruption.



What Happens Next?

Following the initial visit, we will report back to your insurer detailing the damage and repair works required. Once we have approval of necessary works, a field-based and office-based project manager will be assigned to your claim. They will then discuss your remediation programme, time scales and agree a start date to commence works.

Prepare a schedule of restoration works (scope of works) to be carried out

Excess Collection

Upon registering your claim, your insurance company will have notified you of any policy excess. If we have been instructed to collect this, we will request payment before works commence.

Payments can be made via bank transfer, debit or credit card.

What Can You Do To Help?

All of our equipment is safe to run continuously, although it may be warm to touch. Where equipment is installed, please follow the instructions provided by Biosweep North East.

Please note: We will notify your insurer of any increase in electricity usage.


Do…

Take any valuables, cash and important documentation with you, including your insurance policy details, if you're staying away from home.

Keep all children and pets away from equipment

Follow instructions regarding keeping windows closed

Wear appropriate protective clothing and gloves when handling any contaminated contents

If you are going on holiday, please ensure you nominate a point of contact during your absence and provide us with their contact details.

Make parking available to our technicians and tradespeople wherever possible.


Don’t…

Switching off equipment may increase the drying time and slow down the overall restoration time. Please do not switch off any equipment unless advised to do so by Biosweep North East.

If we have deemed a property or area unsafe, never enter this area until advised by us that it is safe to do so.

Don’t switch your electrical, water or gas supply back on, unless tested by a competent, safe certified engineer.

Don’t dispose of any contents, damaged or otherwise, related to your claim unless instructed to do so.
